The quality of compressed wood pulp foam can be judged mainly by the following points:
1. Appearance: Except for exceptionally large, seemingly empty spaces, a good quality foam generally has a finer texture and smaller pores.
2. Feel: A good quality foam should rebound quickly and be soft; a hard foam indicates inferior quality.
3. Temperature: A normal foam has a slight odor, but if the odor is unbearable, it indicates the use of inferior raw materials.

4. Tear Strength: Good quality foam is resistant to tearing. If it tears easily with a light touch, it's definitely made with inferior materials. In this case, the sofa cushion should indent about 10 centimeters after a person sits on it. Springs are usually added to the cushion to increase the sofa's resilience and extend its lifespan.
The quality of the wood pulp foam directly determines the sofa's lifespan.
The manufacturing process of the wood pulp foam determines its density. Currently, domestically produced foam density can reach, but does not exceed, 45. Densities above 45 are typically found in resin products, which are quite expensive and generally used in airplane seats and luxury car seats. To create the illusion of high foam density, some unscrupulous manufacturers artificially add talcum powder during production. However, the processing of talcum powder involves using large amounts of formaldehyde, toluene, and other substances that are fatally harmful to humans. The added talcum powder is prone to flaking off, severely damaging the foam's lifespan and performance. Sitting on it, the sofa is very hard, lacks any elasticity, and the foam is brittle; it easily crumbles when dug out by hand.
